Building the FlexiSpot E7 Pro Gaming Desk
FlexiSpot lets you truly customize any of their desks in various ways. When you place your order, you get to customize the size, color, desktop, and more. They even have a variety of accessories to go along with the desks to complete the package. As we went with the E7 Pro, the electric height adjustment ranges from 25–50.6 inches. You also get their premium keypad with several memory settings.
For the desktop material, you can go with varieties like chipboard, bamboo, fiberboard, solid wood, and more. However, two gaming desktops offer an option for high framerates (FPS) or fast reflexes (RTS). The material has an unusual surface, but it really does reflect the mouse optics perfectly—giving you an entire desktop surface that works just as well (or better) than a mousepad.
Assembly went quickly and we found the instructions easy to follow. We built the entire desk upside down. It took less than 45 minutes to assemble fully using a cordless screwdriver. The connections are VERY clearly labeled and color-coded, making it super easy to connect all of the leg motors and the premier keypad to the central controller.
One major highlight is the cable management tray underneath the desk. With everything wrapped and tucked, it leaves a very clean look. They also give you a nice cable management tray for the wires that come off the back of your desk. Here is a photo just prior to final cable management:
Using the FlexiSpot E7 Pro Plus Standing Desk Capacity
You can adjust the height of the FlexiSpot E7 Pro gaming desk from 25 to 50.6 inches of standing range. That gives you plenty of options for both sitting and standing. Whether you stand 5-foot tall or 6-foot 6 inches tall, you can find a position that works well for you.
Two motors lifted the frame up and down smoothly—even when we had the FlexiSpot Dual Monitor Mount (D1DP) loaded with a pair of displays. The E7 Pro holds up to 440 pounds!
Adjustments
We installed the 7-button premium keypad on the right side of the desk (you can place it on either side and FlexiSpot gives you pre-drilled holes). The buttons sort of look like they are numbered 1–4, but you actually have 2 presets and another two modes for sit and stand heights. In either case, you get a total of 4 customized heights. The premium keypad also gives you a handy USB charging port on the right-hand side for use with your phone or anything else you might want to charge.
For leveling the desk, the FlexiSpot E7 Pro gaming standing desk gives you adjustable discs under the ends of each of the twin sit/stand legs to compensate for uneven tile, wood, or flooring. You can also remove these entirely and just use the rubberized pads.
