Building Your FlexiSpot E7 Pro Plus Standing Desk
When you buy a standing desk from FlexiSpot, it’s a highly customizable experience. If you want, you can buy the frame on its own. It’s a great option if you want to make your own top or already have one you want to install. There are two key choices here: a C-Frame (which we chose), T-Frame, or an Oval frame, and gray, white, or black in color.
If you’re like most of us and need a desktop as well, there are a range of options. For the material, there’s chipboard, bamboo, fiberboard, solid wood, and bamboo with a wireless charger built in. Each material has multiple color options and a wide range of size options. We’ve listed those along with the pricing near the bottom of our review.
Assembly is easy thanks to good instructions. With a cordless screwdriver and a little DIY experience, it should take less than an hour to assemble.
One major highlight is the cable management tray underneath the desk. With everything wrapped and tucked, it leaves a very clean look.
We were filling a small space, so our desk has the C-frame in black with a 48 x 24-inch chipboard top in maple.
Using the FlexiSpot E7 Pro Plus Standing Desk
The full height range runs from 23.6 to 49.2 inches, so you should be able to find both sitting and standing heights you like, even if you’re very tall. Thanks to wide feet at the base, the desk is stable, even at its highest setting.
The frame uses two motors to lift and lower the frame with smooth operation, even when you have it loaded to the weight limit. The E7 Pro Plus can hold up to 355 pounds—nearly 75 pounds more than the E5 Pro.
Adjustments
You can install the 7-button control panel on either the right or left side. To manually raise or lower the desk, press the up or down buttons. It’s sensitive and responds quickly, so you don’t have to worry about putting a lot of effort into it.
Buttons numbered 1 – 2 and icons for sit and stand allow you to set 4 customized heights—perfect if you’re sharing your desk with another person. The primary user can set positions 1 and 2 for their sitting and standing positions, and the secondary user can use the other two.
To program a preset, adjust to the height you want, press the “M” button, and then press the number you want to lock that height into. If you press and hold the “M” button, it activates and deactivates the lock button, so children or other people don’t adjust the height.
