FLEX Updates Founders Lifetime Warranty to December 31, 2023!
When we first heard about the Flex Founders Limited Lifetime Warranty, we thought it was a great way to incentivize professionals to consider a new power tool and battery platform. It isn’t every day that a brand launches with dozens of new tools and a plan to release dozens more over the next couple of years. We put together this page to answer some of the more common questions associated with the Flex Founders Warranty program. And believe me, we received a lot of questions!
What Does the Flex Founders Warranty Cover?
The Flex Founders Limited Lifetime Warranty covers Flex 24V tools, batteries, and chargers purchased prior to December 31, 2023. Initially, the Flex Founders Warranty covered tools purchased prior to December 31, 2021, however, Flex Tool extended the date one year in January of 2022 and again in 2023. That’s great news for anyone still considering whether or not to purchase new Flex power tools for their business or trade.
Here’s how the coverage breaks down. For all Flex 24V tools, you get a Limited Lifetime Warranty provided you purchase and register the tool prior to the deadline. For Flex 24V batteries & chargers you get the same Limited Lifetime Warranty once the tools are registered, however, Flex only covers a maximum of 3 battery replacements. Flex provides no warranty on tool accessories or attachments.
How Do You Get the Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty?
To get the Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty you must purchase and register the tools by December 31, 2023. You can register your products online at www.registermyflex.com. Note: You MUST register your tools by the deadline (and within 30 days of purchase) in order to qualify for the lifetime warranty. Otherwise, the warranty defaults to a 3-year limited warranty.
Wait—doesn’t Flex have a standard 5-year warranty? Yes, however, like the Flex Founders Warranty, it also requires registration within 30 days of purchase. The 3-year fallback presumes you didn’t register your tool, battery, or charger within 30-days of purchase. So if you happen to pick up that new Flex 24V barrel grip jigsaw or any other Flex brushless tools, make sure you register it within 30-days to get the best possible coverage.
Are There Any Exceptions?
There are only a few “exceptions” if you want to call them that. The Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty doesn’t apply to accessories, attachments, or parts. Flex also doesn’t cover “direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages”. The lifetime warranty also only applies to products sold within the United States, Canada, and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. If you purchased your product in a different country than those listed, check with your local Flex dealer to see your warranty options.
