Flex 24V Hybrid Jobsite Fan Helps You Beat The Summer Heat

To paraphrase the late great Keith Whitley, I’m certainly no stranger to the heat and as a Florida native, I know that a good quality jobsite fan can either make or break your day. But a fan is a fan, right? We put ourselves in front of the Flex 24V Brushless Hybrid Jobsite Fan to see what sets it apart.

Pros

  • Brushless motor
  • Multiple mounting options
  • High airflow
  • Dual power options
  • USB-C Fast charging power outlet

Cons

  • No significant drawbacks

Flex 24V Hybrid Jobsite Fan Performance

Performance

In a power tool world where we’ve become accustomed to brushless motors left and right, it’s easy to overlook them as innovative. But jobsite fans aren’t high-draw products, so most brands stick with a less-expensive brushed motor. Flex doesn’t.

The same benefits of higher performance, longer runtimes, and longer motor life apply to fans, too. On high, Flex’s 8 1/2-inch blades push air up to 19 MPH and 1100 CFM. We’ve seen higher CFM numbers from larger diameter fans, but that 19 MPH airspeed caught our attention. With it, you’re able to move air further than most fans and direct it with a 13-position 180° rotating head.

As for runtime, we were able to run at high speed for 3 hours, 44 minutes with a 5.0Ah battery. That’s a little short of the 4-hour maximum on the spec sheet, but it’s in the neighborhood. On low, you can expect up to 46 hours.

If you have convenient access to power, simply plug in any standard extension cord and skip the battery altogether. Flex includes a 3.3-foot extension cord to get you started.

Hybrid Power Options

It’s A Charging Fan… But Not That Kind Charging Fan

Flex ups the ante by including a 2.1A USB-C charging port on the fan next to the speed dial. The side of the base also acts as a phone holder. We’d prefer a standard USB port, but it’s still genuinely helpful in today’s constantly-connected world.

Additional Highlights

  • Set the fan on its base, or use the hang hook, keyholes, tripod threads (1/4-inch and 5/8-inch), or rebar holes to mount it
  • Button activated battery-life indicator beside the speed dial
  • Integrated carry handle on the top
  • Weighs 6.6 pounds without battery

Flex 24V Hybrid Jobsite Fan Price

Look for the fan on Lowe’s shelves and online for $119.99 as a bare tool only. It’s backed by a 5-Year warranty but if you register it before the end of 2022, you can take full advantage of the FLEX Founders Warranty which covers it for life.

The Bottom Line

Is the Flex 24V Brushless Hybrid Jobsite Fan just another “me too” product? Not at all. From the performance and runtime gains of a brushless motor to helpful features we haven’t seen on other jobsite fans, it raises the bar compared to other options.
