Festool Power Select Program Makes Tool Selections Easier
If you’ve seen recent ads for the Festool Unplugged campaign, you know the company is pushing its cordless lineup hard. And why not? Cordless tools we’ve reviewed like the Festool TSC 55 cordless track saw and the versatile Festool C18 drill have proven to be solid performers. So how is the Festool Power Select program different from what we’re already seeing?
Understanding Festool Power Select
First of all, it’s a focus on the group of 18V tools that have a completely interchangeable battery/charger platform. This may seem like a no-brainer from any cordless tool brand, but Festool is a little different than most. Not only do they have tools designed for construction/remodeling, but also for trim carpentry and woodworking. Festool Power Select simply helps end-users understand that no matter what the role of the tool, the battery is going to work with any of their 18V tools.
Secondly, Festool Power Select simplifies the often confusing world of model numbers. With all those letters and numbers, it seems like there’s a secret code you have to break in order to know exactly what you’re getting. Now, it comes down to three choices that are mercifully straightforward.
“With Power Select, deciding which cordless tools to select is easier than ever. Professional users of our 18v Li-ion tools now have the same battery and charging platform as well as a more streamlined and cost-effective way to add to their Festool cordless system of tools.”
Steve Rangoussis, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Festool USA
Basic, Plus, and Full Kits
A Festool Basic kit includes the bare tool in a Systainer. Any Plus kit has the bare tool, Systainer, two 18V batteries, and a charger. Festool Full Sets start with the bare tool, Systainer, two batteries, charger, and add the optional accessories for the kit. Need three tools, but only two batteries? No problem – order two Basic kits and Plus kit or Full Set to get everything you need without the extra cost of what you don’t!
