The Dremel Go screwdriver breaks the brand into the cordless screwdriver market alongside both Pro and homeowner level tools. The benefits of a screwdriver in this class is pretty obvious – you’re not turning a hand tool or putting so much torque into the job that you damage the fastener or workpiece.

Why Dremel?
“The Dremel GO allows do-it-yourselfers, woodworkers, and makers to handle light-and medium-duty tasks with ease. It offers consumers push-and-go convenience for everyday projects such as furniture assembly, installing lighting fixtures and mounting pictures on a wall.”
Fulvio Camarotto, Dremel Group Product Manager
The Dremel GO Screwdriver is the company’s first foray into the powered screwdriving game, and it looks like they took this task seriously.
It has a push start feature that removes the annoyance of traditional hand screwing. Basically, to drive screws, you’ll slide the selector switch to the forward position and push the tool into the screw. Likewise, to unscrew a fastener, you’ll reverse the directional switch, and press the driver into the screw. The Ridgid 12V Palm Impact Driver uses a similar pressure-sensitive drive, and it’s a very convenient system.
What if you’re working with fragile components that you don’t want to damage through over-torquing?
No worries, because the Dremel GO Screwdriver also comes with an overdrive protection feature that allows you to dial in the amount of torque you’re using. And if you’re really concerned about over-fastening, you can set the selector switch to “neutral” to hand turn the fastener the last turn or so.
With a compact size, it fits easily into the kitchen drawer or on your toolbelt. With the included fast charger, the 4V battery can reach full charge in about an hour and a half.
Performance Specs
The Dremel Go Screwdriver isn’t the first product of its kind. So, what makes it special?
Dremel claims that its 360 RPM and its 44 in-lbs of torque can drive screws 2 times faster than other powered screwdrivers. For around-the-house work, the GO is a handy tool to keep around the house.
The Dremel GO Screwdriver is available from select hardware stores and online. It retails for $34.97.
