A common issue with many robot vacuums is that they often may get slowed down by obstacles in their path. The Dreame Z10 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop uses Lidar navigation technology. This could help it avoid obstacles like furniture and pets by using light and pulsed lasers to steer clear. It also includes an auto-empty base that lets it vacuum for up to 2 months unsupervised.
Dreame Z10 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Performance
One of the reasons why robot vacuums are so popular is the convenience they offer. Many people simply don’t have the energy to spend hours cleaning their floors, so they look for other solutions. One nice thing about the Dreame Bot Z10 Pro is that it scans 8 meters in front of itself to look for potential obstacles. That way, you don’t have to pre-tidy your floors in order for the vacuum to clean properly.
Our home is very spread out and presents lots of “hazards” for typical robotic vacuums. With vacuums lacking LIDAR, the random vacuuming pattern might help you clean some areas regularly, but the vacuum also spends a lot of its time getting lost within chair legs and table boundaries.
The Dreame Z10 Pro navigated every piece of furniture in our home like a Pro. It deftly circled chair and sofa legs and even made it under portions of our complex dining room table. In the end, I was very impressed with just how well it vacuumed every available surface.
Switch out to the included mop pad and you can take care of tile and any other hard flooring that benefits from cleaning with a damp cloth.
App Control with Lidar Map
Using the Mi Home app, you can set schedules, segment your home into Zones, locate your vacuum, and check out its cleaning history. Possibly the most impressive aspect of the app occurs when mapping your home for the first time. You can literally “see” how the LIDAR views your home, and how it automatically divides areas into zones or sections.
Self-Emptying into Integrated Central Dust Collection Tank
Another big hassle with robotic vacuums has to do with their use of small onboard dustbin storage containers. While the Dreame Z10 Pro has a small 400ml dust box, it has the ability to automatically empty its contents into a 4L bag each time it docks into the charging station.
The net result is that you may not have to mess with the vacuum for up to 2 months before replacing the bag in the auto-empty base. Compared to the daily emptying routine I had with my last robotic vacuum, this saves me tons of time!
Power and Functionality
The suction power of the Dreame Z10 Pro also proves to be another strong point. With 4000Pa of suction, it stands on the higher end of suction power when compared to other robot vacuums you can find on Amazon. Also notable is the 150-minute runtime when fully charged, which seems like more than enough time to clean a large room. It has a 0.15-gallon dust tank and a 0.07-gallon water tank.
One of the most annoying parts of owning a vacuum cleaner is when hair gets stuck between the bristles, lowering its cleaning potential. The Z10 Pro does a great job untangling hair on its own during the cleanup process. You can also remove the brush and manually clean it if it gets too messy over time.
