We got a chance to review our second robotic vacuum from DreameTech. This time, we tested the Dreametech D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop. Like the Dreametech Z10 Pro we reviewed earlier, it uses LIDAR to map and navigate obstacles. This helps it avoid furniture but also lets it vacuum in a methodical pattern. Even better, an auto-empty base lets you vacuum for 4-6 weeks until you need to empty the bag.
Dreametech D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop Performance
We love the convenience LIDAR-based robot vacuums offer. The Dreame D10 Plus scans up to 8 meters in front of itself to map out the room and plot its course. While Dreametech recommends organizing your space by removing any potential issues, you can—with the exception of cables and cords—just let the robot do its work.
We set up the Dreametech D10 Plus robot vacuum in our Shop office. While not as hazard-prone as my home, the tile floors can truly benefit from the integrated mop functions. You can actually schedule vacuuming followed by mopping so that the vacuum efficiently covers the entire space efficiently.
The Dreametech D10 Plus did a fantastic job navigating our office chairs, desks, and other furniture. The only time we saw it get stuck involved a delicate area where it caught itself between a chair and a standing map for one of our Ergotron Workfit Sit-Stand desks.
Switch out to the included mop pad, and you can take care of tile and any other hard flooring that benefits from cleaning with a damp cloth. That simply involves filling the 145 mL container with water before you start.
Dreametech D10 Plus App Control with LIDAR Map
Using the Mi Home app, you can set schedules, segment your home into Zones, locate your Dreametech D10 Plus vacuum, and check out its cleaning history. Possibly the most impressive aspect of the app occurs when mapping your home for the first time. You can literally “see” how the LIDAR views your home, and how it automatically divides areas into zones or sections.
Self-Emptying into Integrated Central Dust Collection Tank
Another big hassle with robotic vacuums has to do with their use of small onboard dustbin storage containers. While the Dreametech D10 Plus has a small 400mL dust box, it also automatically empties the contents of that bin into the base station. That base station holds a 2.5L bag—which it fills each time the D10 Plus docks to recharge.
The net result is that you may not have to mess with the vacuum for up to 45 days before replacing the bag in the auto-empty base. I think the days of daily robotic vacuum emptying are gone!
Power and Functionality
The Dreame D10 Plus provides 4000Pa of suction. That falls on the higher end of suction power for robotic vacuums on Amazon. Also notable is the 150-minute runtime when fully charged, which seems like more than enough time to clean a large room. It has a 0.10-gallon (400 mL) dust tank and a 0.04-gallon (145 mL) water tank.
