Apex Tool Groups leading hand tool brand, Crescent Tools, has launched its new Crescent Connect Modular Clamp System. After the Crescent CMTS4 Switchblade Multi-Purpose Cutter, it looks like Apex is on a roll. The major draw for this system is the ability to connect multiple clamps together and rotate them in order to hold several pieces in place or to keep a grip on a single piece at multiple angles.
The vice style clamp system offers 500 pounds of clamping force in addition to its flexible positioning. The clamp is designed to deliver this greater force while allowing for better leverage and less strain. An integrated pipe grip ensures that round objects are held securely in place. Removable oversize rubber pads protect against damage to work surfaces and provide extra traction with its non-slip surface.
The Crescent Connect Modular Clamp System is available in 6 inch or 12 inch sets and are sold in packages of two. Prices on the 12 inch set are running in the $45 range and it looks like retailers are having a hard time keeping the connectors and 6 inch models in stock. Though out of stock at the moment, Amazon has the 6 inch set priced around $35 and the Twin Lock Connector around $10. Get the 12 inch set here.
