Craftsman’s V20 Jig Saw Marks Another Entry in the Brushless RP Lineup
So far, we’ve covered the Craftsman brushless RP impact driver, Craftsman pin nailer, and the Brushless RP hammer drill. Now, the Craftsman V20 Brushless RP jig saw takes the front stage. The first jig saw with a brushless motor from Craftsman, the CMCS650 promises better performance than the brushed CMCS600. We’ll go over its features to get an idea of how it operates.
Craftsman V20 Brushless RP Jig Saw – The Big Deal
This jig saw attains cut speeds up to 3,200 SPM with no load. That improves upon the last cordless model by 700 SPM. The variable speed trigger helps you control the speed and power when starting cuts and getting into curves. The 1-inch stroke length adds 1/4-inch to the last jigsaw and cuts faster—particularly on thicker material.
Additionally, 3 orbital settings (Off, 1, and 2) give you further even more control and options when cutting wood. The jig saw’s brushless motor ensures better runtime and performance than the brushed motor of the former CMCS600.
Like many modern jig saws, Craftsman designed the V20 RP jig saw with a tool-free blade release. This feature makes it easier to switch out your blade while reducing downtime. Furthermore, the tool accepts both T and U shank blades, so you don’t have to worry about having a specific blade style on hand.
This jig saw was designed with a couple of features that ensure you’ll be able to see your cut line. There’s an integrated dust blower so that your lines aren’t bogged down under sawdust, and also an onboard LED work light for working in low light conditions.

Price
The Craftsman V20 Brushless RP Jig Saw retails for $119. At this time, there are no kit options, so you need to buy your batteries separately.
If you don’t do a lot of work requiring a jigsaw, the brushed CMCS600 comes as a kit for $119. We definitely recommend the brushless model if you already have Craftsman batteries and a charger. However, you can’t argue with that value if this is your first jig saw.
As always, Craftsman offers a 3-year limited warranty with your purchase.
