With over a decade since the last one, the new Craftsman oscillating spindle sander has an attractive price tag, solid cast iron table top, and convenient storage of all accessories in the base, this is a great addition to anyone’s collection of bench top power tools.
The Craftsman oscillating spindle sander 21500 weighs 60 pounds which helps the sander stay well planted with hardly any vibration. The heavy weight comes from the solid cast iron round table top which features a super smooth finish that allows for easy maneuvering of the material to be sanded. The 1/4 HP motor is smooth and quiet yet it spins at a very quick 1750 RPM. The included standard drum sizes range from 1/2″ to 3″ in diameter and operate with a 1″ stroke with 30 strokes per minute. Also included is a dust collection system that works well as long as you use it with a vacuum. The bummer is that you will not be able to see it in person before you buy it, unless you have a buddy with one because it is an online only item for the time being.
