Bosch DDB181 Brings 18V Power in a 12V Size
Bosch is bringing the most compact 18V drill to the market with the Bosch DDB181 1/2″ Compact Drill Driver. Promising to be the most compact 18V drill driver on the market, the DDB181 weighs in at just 3 pounds and is 7.1 inches long. The two speed motor delivers up to 1,300 RM and 350 inch pounds of torque.
The Bosch DDB181 includes most of the features we’ve come to expect as the standard for all cordless drill drivers. The motor can easily be switched from hi speed to low with the flick of the switch on top of the housing. An LED illuminates darker work spaces. There are 20 + 1 clutch settings to dial in the amount of torque you need applied. The 1/2 inch chuck is keyless and it features a rubberized grip to improve ergonomics.
Jim Bohn, Bosch Product Development Director, tells us that “It may be small, but it doesn’t compromise on performance. With a driving torque of 350 inch pounds, the DDB181 is a more powerful fastening tool than its predecessor. A more compact size means less user fatigue and ultimately increased productivity.”
