There is a Bosch angle grinder recall from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that affects small angle grinders including the Bosch 1380 slim 4.5-inch angle grinder with date codes 502 through 511. You can see if your unit is affected by looking for the model number and date codes on the name plate located on the bottom of the angle grinder. These small angle grinders are colored blue and silver with a black label and they feature black and red control buttons.
Bosch and the CPSC has received four reports of the Bosch 1380 slim grinders overheating, but there have been no injuries reported as of this writing. Basically, it’s possible the grinder could overheat while in use, which would cause the brush covers to melt and expose the end of the brush holder. Obviously, this could pose a risk of burns to anyone using the tool.
