Best Greenworks Lawn Mower – Our Top Picks
Without further ado, here are our top picks to help you find the right model for your needs.
Best Greenworks Riding Lawn Mower
60V CrossoverZ 42-Inch Zero-Turn
Greenworks was the first to have a really good lithium zero-turn mower. Available on either the 60V or 80V platforms, it’s a somewhat basic design when it comes to electronic features, making it a very easy transition if you’re used to using a gas model. As a bonus, the development team spent a lot of time dialing in the lap bar controls to make the mower accelerate and respond as close to gas models as possible.
Reasons to Buy
- Easy transition from gas ZT models
- Confident cutting power
- Excellent cut quality
- LED headlights
- Powered by the same 60V batteries that work on the entire 60V platform
- Rear bucket holds up to 200 pounds
- Can tow up to 300 pounds
- Corresponding app
Consider Another Model If
- You want a lawn tractor design (Greenworks has one!)
- Onboard charging is a must
- Storage space is an issue

- Deck Size: 42 inches
- Cutting Height Range: 1.5 – 4.5 inches

Best Greenworks Robotic Lawn Mower
optimow 50H
Greenworks has a robotic lawn mower for those who would rather watch the game than mow the lawn. The optimow 50H is designed for tall species such as fescue or St. Augustine and is rated to handle lawns up to 3/4 of an acre. Installation is DIY-friendly with everything you need to get started in the package. Pick where you’re going to install the charging pad and then pin the boundary wire around your lawn from there. The grass will quickly grow over the top of the wire and be out of your way.
While the mower is working, you can still enjoy your lawn. A host of safety features are onboard to ensure your family and pets are safe. With built-in GPS and 4G cellular connectivity, you’ll be able to find your mower if someone decides to take it.
Reasons to Buy
- Automatic mowing
- Handles slopes up to 20° (35%)
- App controls
- DIY installation-friendly
- 4G cellular and GPS connected
- You can hose it off
- Safety-first design prevents injury to kids, pets, and most obstacles
Consider Another Model If
- Your grass needs to be cut less than 2.4 inches long
- Your lawn is more than 3/4-acre
- App-based technology frustrates you
Numbers to Know
- Housing Material: Poly
- Cutting Width: 8.7 inches

Best Greenworks 60V Self-Propelled Lawn Mower
21-Inch Self-Propelled 2531702
My favorite Greenworks line is the 60V system and the best self-propelled model on it comes down to a choice between the 25-inch and 21-inch models. For most homes up to 1/4-acre, the 21-inch is the way to go, and you can extend beyond that with an extra set of batteries. It’s a mower that’s easy to use with a light enough weight that it’s also maneuverable. Combining its 60V battery with a brushless motor, it also has excellent cutting performance. Plus, its handle release mechanism is one of the easiest to use when you want to store the mower vertically.
Reasons to Buy
- Very good cutting power with a Turbo mode for thick areas
- Excellent cut quality
- Two active battery ports with automotive switchover
- Highly maneuverable
- Single-point deck height adjustment
- Comfortable handle ergonomics
- Easy-folding handle for vertical storage
Consider Another Model If
- You’re cutting more than 1/2-acre
- You want the wider cutting swath of the 25-inch model
- You want the lower cost of a push mower
Numbers to Know
- Deck Material: Steel
- Deck Size: 21 inches
- Cutting Height Range: 1.3 – 4.0 inches
- Max Speed: 3.3 MPH
- Recommended Lawn Size: Up to 1/2-acre
Price: $599.99
Best Greenworks 60V Push Lawn Mower
21-Inch Self-Propelled
I’m sticking with the 60V system for the best Greenworks push mower, and not straying far from my self-propelled pick. If you want to save money by forgoing the self-propelled drive, then Greenworks’ 60V 21-inch push mower is the top choice. Its design is nearly identical to that self-propelled model, sans the drive system. It’s a little lighter, improving the maneuverability a bit while maintaining excellent cutting characteristics, easy use, and easy folding.
Reasons to Buy
- Very good cutting power with a Turbo mode for thick areas
- Excellent cut quality
- Two active battery ports with automotive switchover
- Single-point deck height adjustment
- Highly maneuverable
- Comfortable handle ergonomics
- Easy-folding handle for vertical storage
Consider Another Model If
- You want a self-propelled drive
- You’re cutting more than 1/3-acre
Numbers to Know
- Deck Material: Steel
- Deck Size: 21 inches
- Cutting Height Range: 1.3 – 4.0 inches
- Recommended Lawn Size: up to 1/3-acre
Price: $599.99
Best Greenworks 80V Lawn Mower
25-Inch Self-Propelled
If you’re already on the Greenworks 80V system or that’s the one you’re looking to get into, you have many of the same options that the 60V system has. If I had to pick just one for the average lawn that’s in the 1/4 – 1/2-acre range, I’d go with the 25-inch self-propelled model. Similar to the other walk-behind models we’ve already looked at, it has a comfortably ergonomic handle with an easy-folding release.
The primary difference is that you switch out a single blade for two overlapping blades that give cuts 23.75 inches on every pass. It’s a confident cutter and still has the mulching/bagging capabilities as the others, though it doesn’t have the side discharge of the smaller models. With the larger deck size and higher weight, it’s not as easy to maneuver as the smaller models, so keep that in mind if you have a lot of obstacles to work around in your yard.
Reasons to Buy
- Very good cutting power with a Turbo mode for thick areas
- Excellent cut quality
- Two active battery ports with automotive switchover
- Single-point deck height adjustment
- Comfortable handle ergonomics
- Easy-folding handle for vertical storage
Consider Another Model If
- You need lower weight or the best maneuverability
- You’re mowing less than a 1/4-acre or more than 3/4-acre
- You need a side discharge function
Numbers to Know
- Deck Material: Steel
- Deck Size: 25 inches
- Cutting Height Range: 1.4 – 4.1 inches
- Max Speed: 3.3 MPH
- Recommended Lawn Size: 1/4-acre to 3/4-acre
Price: $899.99
Best Greenworks 40V Lawn Mower
21-Inch Self-Propelled
Greenworks’ 40V line offers the best balance of performance and price, meeting the needs of homeowners with lawns that are typically 1/4-acre or less. Of the mower options for the 40V system, the 21-inch self-propelled lawn mower is the best. While it’s not quite as powerful as the 60V and 80V versions, it still has the muscle of a brushless motor to get the job done well, the wider cutting of a 21-inch deck, and the durability of steel for the deck material.
Reasons to Buy
- Good cutting power
- Excellent cut quality
- Two active battery ports with automotive switchover
- Single-point deck height adjustment
- Highly maneuverable
- Comfortable handle ergonomics
- Folding handle for vertical storage
