Ariat VentTEK Boots Combine Western Style With Work Boot Performance While Keeping You Cool
Suggesting the best work boots for your particular trade can vary wildly since everyone has different needs and preferences. The Ariat Hybrid VentTEK Boots combine the tread of a standard work boot with a traditional cowboy boot style to give you the best of both worlds. We got our hands (or rather, our feet) on a pair of these boots to see what the VentTEK cooling technology has to offer. As it turns out, they held up to hiking in Alaska and over 40 miles of walking during a week in Helsinki, Finland.

Ariat designed the VentTEK boots with mesh panels to keep your feet and calves cool and comfortable all day. They feature 100% premium full-grain leather on the foot and upper, with patterned, vented mesh underlays to enable airflow into the boot.
These boots have a cushioned insole that’s removable in case you need to add another type of insole for support. On the outside, the Duratread soles are oil- and barnyard-chemical-resistant, as well as non-slip.
Design and Fit
The Ariat Hybrid VentTEK boots are reminiscent of a standard western-style boot. In fact, the brand took inspiration from its popular Hybrid Rancher boots and added a vented design to provide further comfort.
They feature a wide, square-toe design and a 1.5-inch horseman heel. These boots have a soft-toe design, however, so if toe protection is something you’re after, Ariat has plenty of other boots that fit this criterion.
Performance, Comfort, and Durability
Having worn the Ariat Hybrid VentTek boots for about a month, they are my new go-to work boots. The VentTEK technology really does work—and I live in sunny Florida. They truly keep your legs cool with much-needed breathability and airflow. I also love the fit of these boots. They pull on more easily than a dress boot—no shoehorn needed.
Having worn many western-style work boots, I’m especially fond of the way these boots visually minimize the outsole design. Rather than present a thick sole that upsets the style of a western boot, Ariat conveys a traditional look while giving you the tread needed to tackle a jobsite. This results in work boots that not only hold up under intense use but also look good while you wear them.
