Hilti is on a roll, having already released two portable line and plumb lasers, the new Hilti PR 2-HS Rotating Laser rounds out their long-range laser solutions. The Hilti PR 2-HS is designed to be a durable product for transferring heights, setting slopes and of course, more simple leveling tasks. It’s a slightly less complicated, less precise model than the Hilti PR 30-HVS rotating laser. The functionality of this rotating laser is simplified through the use of clearly defined function buttons.
Integrated Hilti Pulse Power technology lets the rotating laser achieve an accuracy of +/- 0.02 inches at 32.8 ft. This is true even under full sunlight conditions. Plus, with the included PRA 20 laser receiver, the usable range of the PR 2-HS is extended up to a 2,000 ft diameter (since this is a rotating laser, you get twice the linear range if you utilize a second PRA 20). It’s the perfect tool to have long prior to pulling out the Hilti TE 70 Combihammer and getting to work.
The new rotating laser is built to be extremely rugged. There is a lot of rubber overmold, and the internal design is abel to withstand a drop from a tripod at six feet. To back up these claims, Hilti got the new PR 2-HS an IP 66 rating, so it is dust tight and water resistant—two characteristics you want in a job site rotating laser that is sure to be subjected to the rigors of in-progress job sites.
Hilti’s new PR 2-HS Rotating Laser carries the company’s Calibration Service so reliability and accuracy are guaranteed. The way it works is that you send the unit to Hilti (for repair or maintenance) and Hilti will calibrated and adjust the PR 2-HS as needed. The calibration is even confirmed in writing. If that’s not incentive enough, Hilti backs the PR 2-HS with its Lifetime Service (two years of which are supplied at no-charge).
