Worx WX840L Cordless Finish Nailer and Stapler

Worx Cordless Finish Nailer

Worx Unleashes Their First Cordless Nailer on the DIY World

To us, the cordless nailer seems perfect for DIYers. It forgoes the compressor and gives the maximum amount of freedom. It also definitely beats using a hammer and nails when dealing with projects around the house. Worx has added the WX840L 18-gauge Finish Nailer and Stapler to the Power Share cordless lineup, marking the company’s first foray into the world of cordless finish nailing.

Worx Cordless Finish Nailer Key Features

The Worx Cordless Nailer and Stapler drives 18-gauge brad nails from 3/4″ to 2″ in length, as well as 3/4″ to 1-1/2″ narrow crown staples. Powered by the 2.0Ah 20V Power Share battery, the WX840L can fire off 80 nails per minute and up to 500 nails before you have to recharge the battery. We like the hybrid nature of this tool. We love the Ryobi P360 narrow crown stapler and we still use that tool on various projects. If you want to fire brad nails, however, you have to also buy the Ryobi P320.

Worx WX840L Ergonomics and Convenience

Convenience and comfort are the names of the game with the Worx Cordless Nailer. It weighs in at only 6.7 lbs, even with the battery. This lowers the strain of overhead stapling and nailing. When not in use, it stands on its own or hangs off your belt (just don’t mount the belt clip upside-down as they did in the press photos!).

The cordless stapler features a mode selector switch that lets you toggle single-nail firing or rapid sequential firing. A tool-less depth adjustment knob lets you sink nails below the surface or flush with it. It also includes a non-marring tip to keep your work surfaces scratch-free.

Yes, this is obviously a studio photo as they mounted the belt clip upside-down—oops!

The Worx Cordless Nailer also features side-mounted LED work lights to light up your work surface. Indicator lights indicate the tool status. A flashing red light indicates a nail or staple jam. A solid red light tells you the battery needs recharging. The light flashes green when the tool is overheating—letting you know you may need to slow up or let the tool cool down. A solid green light appears when you’re empty on nails. You can also check your fastener supply via the viewing window on the side-loading magazine.

The Worx Cordless Nailer and Stapler can use any standard 18-gauge brad nail or narrow crown staple, so you won’t have to special order any proprietary fasteners.
