The new WORX 20V 3-inch Mini Cutter (WX801L) is a lightweight tool that can cut ceramic tile, slate, plastic, aluminum, sheet metal, and copper pipe. At just 2.4 pounds with the battery, it delivers a super-portable cordless solution for smaller cutting tasks. In addition to cutting, The Worx WX801L 20V mini cutter includes a grinding disc for removing rust and paint, grinding welds, and similar tasks.
WORX 20V 3-inch Mini Cutter Features
This isn’t the first 3-inch mini saw we’ve seen. We reviewed both the SMC Mastermind 3-inch circular saw and the Dremel Saw-Max. These kinds of tools excel at smaller cutting projects like tile or PVC cutting. Because you can make the cut on-site, you don’t need to keep leaving the area to get to a larger tool like a circular saw. The tool lacks any dust collection, so keep that in mind as you work, however. Concrete, though mentioned by Worx, would seem to be outside the scope of this tool if you worry about silica dust.
The thin grip on the 20V mini cutter contains a top-mounted, on/off slide switch. The Worx WX801L also has a lock-on button for extended use. Finally, a spindle lock makes cutting blade or abrasive changes easy. The kitted version of the tool includes a compact 1.5 Ah 20V battery.

The Worx WX801L mini cutter can accept 3-inch cutting or grinding discs with a 3/8 in. bore. It has an M6 spindle thread. Using thin discs reduces resistance and allows the tool to get more run-time when cutting through metals and other hard materials. The tool can use metal cutting discs and abrasive discs up to 1/16-inch thick. In grinding mode, it uses 5/32-inch thick discs.
The Worx 20V Power Share 3-inch Mini Cutter (WX801L) sells as a kit for $79.99. The kit includes a 20V MAX Lithium 1.5 Ah battery, charger, three cutting discs, and a grinding disc. You can also pick up just the tool (WX801L.9) for $61.04.
