The trades have been getting a lot of love from Milwaukee Tool over the past several years. They just sent some more towards electricians with the addition of new glow-in-the-dark Milwaukee Fish Sticks. Designed for fishing wire in a myriad of conditions, the new fish sticks come in several delicious flavors. We first saw these at the 2019 Milwaukee NPS media event.
Overview
Before we talk about the different models, let’s cover the similarities. All of the new Milwaukee Fish Sticks use reinforced connection points to prevent them from breaking or pulling apart. The new sticks glow in the dark and feature a knurled grip to make them easy to thread—even when wearing gloves.
The Fish Sticks each measure 5-feet in length (60-inches) and come in three styles of flex. They will go on sale through distributors and retailers beginning in July 2019.

What We Think
Sometimes you simply overlook something. I’d say we got caught off-guard with the introduction of these Fish Sticks. Didn’t Milwaukee already cover this? Actually, they didn’t. We use fish sticks all the time. Whether pulling wire and cable behind walls or across ceilings or even installing a flat panel television in a bedroom, fish sticks come in handy. Most recently, we used them to pull some Romex through the floor of our upstairs storage area for a shop bathroom drop.
These products don’t dazzle us with innovation, but they get the basics right. Milwaukee chose well offering them in three flexibilities. The knurled ends also make them easier to use while wearing gloves. Finally, if the glow-in-the-dark rods aren’t enough, the lighted accessory tip gives you a great option for more illumination.
