Milwaukee Shockwave Impact Extractor Set
Milwaukee engineered this extractor set from thick, hardened alloy steel to extend the life. The set pieces have are reverse-threaded and tapered as well. Engineered with an optimized geometry, the new Shockwave Impact Extractors have a superior grip for removing damaged, stuck and corroded fasteners.
Unique to the Milwaukee Shockwave Impact Extractor Set, color coded bands have been laser etched onto the surface of the extractor. This means easier organization and identification in the toolbag. They also include a flexible plastic holder so they don’t get lost rolling around in the your toolbag.
The set includes 5 impact duty extractors for fastener heads 1/4″ to 1/2” that accept 3/8” square drive tools, as well as a 1/4″ to 3/8” Shockwave square socket adapter. This set has a $24.99 price tag.
Final Thoughts
Milwaukee’s Shockwave line of products seems to be pretty well dialed-in at this point from a durability and ductility perspective. Their bits stand up to a lot of torque, a necessity when it comes to impact bits.
More than that, however, there just aren’t as many options when it comes to this style of extractor. The most common extractors force you to drill out the center and becomes a multi-step process. These extraction bits have a design that grips any available edge. With the torque that impact tools deliver and their widespread use, these are a solid option for wrenching out obstinate fasteners.
Obviously, you don’t need an extractor set for every job. But when you need it, you need it and the $24.99 price point seems reasonable. It’s a little bit of a premium over the other major competitor’s out there, but we expect them to last longer.
