Milwaukee hopes to improve the electrical connector installation process with the new Milwaukee M18 Force Logic Crimpers for 750 MCM and 12T utility. The 750 MCM crimper produces UL classified crimps with most #8 to 750 MCM Cu and Dual Rated connectors when used with the forthcoming Exact 12T U-Style Dies while the 12T Utility Crimper gives linesmen 12 tons of output force. Designed to operate in a temperature range from -18°C/0°F to 55°C/122°F, both crimpers feature sealed electronics and Milwaukee’s adaptive pressure control system called Predictive Force Monitoring (PFM).
Additionally, both Milwaukee M18 Force Logic Crimper’s handles have been repositioned, both heads rotate 350°, red alignment marks guide the crimping process, a green LED indicator verifies pressure, and a pre-crimp battery check ensures there’s enough power to complete a crimp.
They are also compatible with the Milwaukee One-Key digital platform. One-Key allows users to sync tools and equipment wirelessly with their mobile device or desktop. Tool electronics are integrated with a custom-built cloud-based program to provide the ability to customize, track, determine service intervals, and manage tool operation and inventory.
The 750 MCM Crimper come as a kit and includes the Milwaukee M18 Force Logic 750 MCM Crimper, (1) M18 RedLithium 5.0 XC Battery Pack, (1) M18 RedLithium 2.0 Compact Battery Pack, Multi-Voltage Charger, Carrying Case.
The 12T Utility Crimper also arrives kitted with the M18 Force Logic 12T Utility Crimper, Carabineer, (1) M18 RedLithium 5.0 XC Battery Pack, (1) M18 RedLithium 2.0 Compact Battery Pack, M18 AC/DC Wall & Vehicle Charger and Utility Bag.
The Bottom Line
The big deal with the new Milwaukee M18 Force Logic Crimpers is lighter weight, better balance, and built-in technology. These aren’t tools by nature, so any benefit of weight loss we can get will help and the balancing will reduce the rate fatigue sets in when they’re used on long days. As with any of the One-Key tools, technology is building all sorts of information from tracking, customizing, reporting, and maintenance reminders all on your phone.
