Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower Moves Lawn Care to the Space Age
Last year when we were at the GIE+EXPO, we caught sight of the battery-powered Mean Green CXR-52 and CXR-60 commercial electric ZTR mowers. Just last month, they introduced us to S.A.M. – Mean Green’s Solar Assisted Mower. The Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower is an optional solar canopy that can be added to their line of commercial electric mowers.

SAM is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA. As an add-on to its low noise, zero emission commercial mower, it not only increases productivity but saves you money on the already low-cost electric recharging. The NexGen CXR mower is the accumulation of years of field testing and development. Final Thoughts
It does seem rather strange to see the direct parallel between what NASA produced for the Mars Rover and how we’re using similar solar recharging of lithium-ion batteries to power lawn maintenance with our feet firmly planted on Earth’s ground. Mean Green has been innovative in this category, but I’d say they’ve only scratched the surface of what is going to be available as technology improves.
