Makita Cordless Impact Wrench Family Welcomes 3 New Members… and Claims 3 New Class Leaders
Makita is introducing three new cordless impact wrenches that are each claiming a top spot in their class. These are high torque impact wrenches designed to meet the needs of high stress applications in auto and industrial applications, not to mention anywhere else that crazy high breakaway and fastening torque may be needed.
“With Makita brushless motors and the industry’s leading 18 volt lithium-ion battery technology, Makita cordless tools not only meet corded demands, they can exceed the performance of corded tools. With these new high-torque cordless impact wrenches, a contractor can put down their much heavier corded impact wrench and go cordless for the most demanding fastening applications.”

New Makita Cordless Impact Wrench Roundup
Each Makita Cordless Impact Wrench will come in either a bare tool or kitted configuration with a pair of 4.0 amp hour batteries. They also take advantage of the increased lifespan and run time that accompanies Makita’s BL Brushless Motor. They all share some common features such as an all metal gear housing, dual LED lights, and Makita’s rubber overmold.
The Makita XWT07T (XWT07Z is the bare tool) features a 3/4″ square drive with friction ring and thru hole retention system. With the highest torque in the group (and its class), the 3-speed motor delivers 780 foot pounds of fastening torque and a massive 1250 foot pounds of breakaway torque. If that doesn’t inspire raised eyebrows and some caveman-esque grunting, you’re probably not breathing.
