Cool Off This Summer with the Ryobi USB Lithium Misting Fan

Ryobi has no shortage of fans in its lineup, but so far, most of them have been on the 18V and 40V platforms. Now, the brand is introducing a misting fan onto the USB Lithium roster, and it combines a few convenient design choices into one tool. We just got the details on this one and I’ll share what we know so far about how it can help you cool down this summer.

Ryobi USB Lithium Misting Fan: Overview

Ryobi USB Lithium Misting Fan
  • Model: Ryobi FVF55K
  • Max air volume: 110 CFM
  • 2 speed modes
  • Clamping base
  • Multi-directional rotating head
  • 2oz water tank
  • Up to 90 minutes of misting per refill
  • Max runtime: 7 hours

Even if you narrow the search down to misting fans specifically, you’ll find several options from Ryobi. However, the FVF55 is the first iteration misting fan in the USB Lithium line. It features a clamping design, too, letting you attach it to material up to 1 1/4-inch thick for hands-free cooling.

There’s also a multi-directional rotating pivoting head that lets you set your airflow in virtually any direction. You can set your airflow between two speed settings, reaching top levels of 110 CFM. With the fan and mist activated, Ryobi estimates that you can feel up to 10° cooler.

For runtimes, the fan can blow for up to 7 hours per charge with the included USB Lithium 2.0Ah battery. One of the nice things about these batteries is that they’re ultra-compact, so if you pick up an extra battery, you can power the fan all day!

When this tool was announced, I initially wondered how long the mist would last with just a 2-ounce water reservoir. Impressively, Ryobi estimates up to 90 minutes of misting time between refills. To keep track of your water levels, there’s a clear water tank at the bottom of the fan head.

Ryobi USB Lithium Misting Fan Price

This fan retails for $49.97 as a kit, including a 2.0Ah USB Lithium battery and charging cord. Like all Ryobi tools, you can find it at The Home Depot. Ryobi backs your purchase with a 2-year warranty.

Should You Buy It?

When I saw this fan, I pictured how much potential it has to make Florida summers less brutal. I often enjoy spending time outside in my yard with my family, and it’s easy to see how having a misting breeze would amplify the experience. However, its compact size is best for one or two people. If you plan on hosting friends and family to keep the whole patio comfortable, consider grabbing one of Ryobi’s larger misting fans for more coverage.
