EGO Reaches New Heights with Its Most Powerful Handheld Blower

Each year, we’re seeing outdoor power equipment brands surpass new benchmarks in the cordless equipment world. One of the most noticeable trends is with battery-powered blowers. EGO has been one of the brands at the forefront of this race, and the newest contender in the 56V Power+ lineup is the 880 CFM blower. I’m looking at this model to see how it stacks up against EGO’s other high-performance handheld blowers.

The EGO LB8800 blower has a brushless motor that drives air volume levels of up to 880 CFM. This is the most powerful handheld model we’ve seen from the brand. In fact, its top specs are just shy of the most powerful handheld blower we’ve tested, Toro’s 900 CFM 60V model.

It features three power modes, letting you adjust your airflow from 270 CFM to 700 CFM, or engage turbo mode to reach the top 880 CFM level. In turbo mode, this blower also produces airspeeds of up to 200 MPH for moving heavy debris like rocks, wet leaves, and mud.

For runtimes, EGO estimates up to 90 minutes on the lowest speed setting using the two kitted 4.0Ah batteries. In high, you’ll get around 12 minutes of trigger time, and if you kick it into turbo mode for the entire session, you’ll get about 8 minutes.

The LB8800 is EGO’s first blower with a carbon fiber body. We’ve seen several EGO string trimmers with carbon fiber shafts, but it’s not a material we’ve seen expand into other parts of the lineup until now. This design helps keep the blower lightweight and durable, weighing just 4.9 pounds without the battery.

This is also the first handheld blower from EGO that has a digital display, letting you keep an eye on your battery levels, power mode, and more.

Finally, this blower includes a tapered nozzle to concentrate your airflow, and a spread nozzle to quickly remove debris from larger areas.
