Echo DPB-7700T is the Brand’s Most Powerful Battery-Powered Backpack Blower
At 2024’s Power-On-Athon event, Echo announced 10 new tools coming to its OPE lineup in early 2025. One of those tools is the Echo 56V X Series Backpack Blower (DPB-7700T), which is the brand’s most powerful cordless model to date. I’m taking a closer look at this blower ahead of its release to see how it compares to the rest of Echo’s offerings.

The Echo DPB-7700T backpack blower runs on up to three 56V Echo batteries. Its brushless motor provides up to 850 CFM of airflow and airspeeds of up to 220 MPH. Echo tells us it achieves a peak blowing force of 36 Newtons, which is significantly higher than we saw in the DPB-5800T when we reviewed it in Spring 2024.
These specs place the DPB-7700T solidly in the Pro market, ideal for landscapers who need power on demand for removing stubborn debris.
Multiple speed settings and a variable speed trigger let you feather your speed to conserve runtime and set your speed to the application. For further control, there’s a cruise function to keep your airspeeds consistent. To achieve the highest blowing force, there’s a locking Turbo mode that delivers maximum power without the need to constantly hold the Turbo button, a feature most manufacturers don’t include.
Additionally, this Echo battery-powered backpack blower employs the brand’s MaxOut technology, which ensures maximum power output for the entire battery life.

As mentioned above, the DPB-7700T runs on Echo’s 56V batteries. It features three active battery ports that let you use one, two, or three batteries simultaneously. The throttle control has an LED display that lets you keep an eye on your battery levels.
As we expect from a Pro-focused brand, Echo included a padded backrest and chest straps commonly found on backpack blowers. Not neglecting your hands, there’s also a rubber overmold on the throttle handle that brings extra comfort and security.
Finally, this model is equipped with a rear-facing work light, which is a relatively new concept that we’ve started seeing on battery-powered backpack blowers. This makes you more visible to vehicles driving on the road and also to the zero-turn operator on your crew. This additional safety measure is a big deal for any operator, but especially those working on fast-paced mow-and-blow crews.
