Festool Updates Its Router Collection With Mid-Range Model
Even though cordless technology seems to be reigning over the tool industry in today’s age, cords still have their place, especially in Pro woodworking and carpentry spaces. Festool offers three different corded routers in its lineup, all of which come with their own performance specs. On today’s menu is the Festool OF 1400 Router, and we’re looking at it to see what it has in store for pro wood shops.

The Festool OF 1400 router provides 1400 watts of power and reaches top speeds of 22,500 RPMs. It has a maximum plunge depth of 2 3/4 inches, which lets you work both on top of and along the edges of your workpiece. Plus, Festool tells us this router is accurate within 0.004 inches thanks to its precision depth adjustment.
This tool also uses MMC Electronics to provide constant speed under load, which leads to improved cut quality. This technology also offers seamless variable speed settings between 10,000 and 22,500 RPM, as well as overload protection for a longer tool life.
