ECHO Expands Its Edger Lineup With a Battery-Powered Model
ECHO is no stranger to battery power, with its eForce 56V lineup having a strong foothold in the cordless OPE world. Until now, however, the brand’s edger lineup has been comprised of only gas models. We’re looking at the ECHO eForce Battery-Powered Edger DPE-2600 to see what it brings to the table to compete with gas power.

The ECHO DPE-2600 edger is one of two new battery-powered edgers in the brand’s lineup. It’s part of the eForce 56V battery system to let you use the same batteries for power as the rest of your ECHO equipment.
This edger boasts up to 86 minutes of runtime with the kitted 5.0Ah battery. Thanks to its brushless motor coupled with Maxout Technology, ECHO tells us it delivers maximum power output for the entire duration of the battery life, instead of slogging down when the battery runs low.
Like ECHO’s gas models, the DPE-2600 has a 2:1 high-torque gear ratio to help you power through overgrown grass and weeds. Three speed settings let you adjust your speed to the task at hand, giving you more power or extended battery life as you work.
As for this edger’s design, it features a curved shaft for more comfortable accessibility. A padded front handle gives you better cutting control, while an aluminum debris shield blocks any flyaway debris. Additionally, the guide wheel features a height adjustment to set your cutting height.
Echo Battery-Powered Edger Price
This edger retails for $479.99 as a bare tool and $599.99 as a kit, including a 5.0Ah battery and rapid charger.
