The Emerson branch of the Ridgid brand offers a ton of drain-cleaning machines for both residential and commercial use. One thing the majority of them have in common is their corded design, requiring you to be near a power outlet. Today we’re looking at the Ridgid K-4310 FXP Drum Machine that lets you clean out drainage blocks without the hassle of a cord. So how does it compare to Ridgid’s other drum machines? Let’s find out.

The Ridgid K-4310 FXP drum machine uses a brushless motor that spins up to 230 RPM, letting you clear tough clogs with less maintenance.
There are a couple of new details that make this model stand out from the rest in Ridgid’s lineup. For starters, it features a cable counter that measures real-time cable distance within the drain line so you can tell exactly where a clog is happening. Additionally, this unit is powered by Ridgid FXP batteries, eliminating the need to work near a wall outlet or mess with extension cords.
This drum machine also features an Autofeed function, which automatically advances and retrieves your cable at a rate of up to 28 feet per minute tool-free.
You can store a total of up to 50 job recordings using the machine’s internal memory. This equates to around 100 hours of stored data that you can retrieve and reference using the Ridgid Link app on your smart device.

There are two different model options for this drum machine— a 5/8-inch model and a 3/4-inch model, with those sizes corresponding to the cable diameter they are compatible with. The smaller of the two can hold up to 100 feet of 5/8-inch cable, and the larger can hold up to 100 feet of 3/4-inch cable or 125 feet of 5/8-inch cable.
Both machines feature a compact design, with wheels to assist with moving around your work area. A telescoping handle, along with front/rear holds and stair climbers, further assist with trasnportation.
