Illuminate Your Work Area With the Metabo HPT Tripod Light
Just because the sun is setting doesn’t mean you have to stop working for the day. Having access to a quality work light can help speed up production by ensuring you and your crew can work after dusk. We’ve got our eyes on the Metabo HPT Tripod Light to see how its extendable design and maneuverable panels can shed some light on your situation.
Metabo HPT Tripod Light Performance
- Max Light Output: 4000 lumens
- Panel Adjustments: 230° (horizontal), 215° (vertical)
- Runtime: 10.5 hrs. (low)
For a first generation light, Metabo HPT doesn’t stray too far from the norm with their design. The sliding handle features a thumb operated release button that extends and retracts the legs. The two telescoping sections are held in place by a pair of quick release clamps that give this light a max height of 84 inches.
The three pivoting LED panels contain a total of 66 white LED lights that offer up to 4,000 lumens of light. This light has four modes that range from 1,000 lumens up to the max output, so you can prioritize longer runtime or more light coverage based on your needs. Compared to other cordless tripod lights on the market, the light output is pretty solid, but there are lights that offer more.
The head pivots 230° horizontally and up 215° vertically. Additionally, the two outer panels are able to pivot outward and provide nearly 300° of light coverage.
The light’s color temperature is mostly white with just a touch of yellow, very similar to Milwaukee’s lights. It’s what we prefer in a work light as opposed to an ultra bright white or slight blue because we can see colors more accurately.
In terms of runtime, Metabo HPT says you can expect up to 4 hours on high with an 8.0Ah battery. That’s right on par with what we expect for this level of output. This light is compatible with Metabo HPT’s entire MultiVolt battery lineup, but also comes with an AC power cord to get you started right away.
