The Ryobi 40V Air Cannon Keeps You Cool at Home or On the Go
Here in Central Florida, a quality fan is a must-have if you want to stay somewhat cool outside. Battery-powered fans have risen in popularity because of their versatile nature. The biggest struggle facing these fans is creating sufficient airflow and runtime to keep you cool. The Ryobi 40V Hybrid Air Cannon offers a solution to these problems and helps you beat the heat.
Ryobi 40V Air Cannon Performance
- Max Airflow: 2000 CFM
- Max Runtime: 20 hrs.
- Noise Level: 51 dBA
- Air Speed: 7.3 mph (1 ft.), 4.0 mph (10 ft.), 1.3 mph (25 ft.)
The 16-inch drum contains a 14-inch fan blade that pushes up to 2,000 CFM of air on high. In terms of airspeed, we measured 7.2 mph at 1 foot, 4 mph at 10 feet, and a gentle 1.2 mph at 25 feet.
When I’m using this fan inside my home workshop, the low speed offers sufficient airflow to keep me relatively cool. On high, I set this fan on my large back patio and still feel meaningful airflow. It’s certainly not the most powerful fan on the market, but it produces more than enough airflow to keep you comfortable.
As for runtime, Ryobi tells us to expect around 20 hours of continuous runtime on low using a 6.0Ah battery. For our test, we set up this fan with a fully charged 4.0Ah battery and got 3 hours and 20 minutes of continuous runtime on high. If you’re near a 120V AC outlet, using the included AC adapter provides you with unlimited runtime.
