From work and fishing to dinner out with my wife and church on Sunday, I love long sleeve button-down shirts. The look is nice and can provide great sun protection, but the central Florida heat and humidity can make them unbearable. I decided to give the Tecovas Easywear Peal Snap a shot and see if it can help me keep my cool while maintaining the look I like.

The first thing I check for when putting on a new long sleeve shirt is the sleeve length. I wear a size large for my chest and shoulders, but the sleeves are often too short and I have to wear them rolled up. For me, the sleeve length on this shirt is perfect. Whether it’s the look I’m going for or sun protection, I can wear the sleeves rolled up or down.
Then there’s the comfort. Tecovas uses a 69% cotton, 27% nylon, and 4% spandex material blend that offers legitimately lightweight and breathable wear.
The high cotton percentage is important, too. With 100% polyester shirts, you get excellent comfort, but they tend to trap body odor that escapes when the material gets warm. That’s most of the time where we live. Cotton doesn’t have that issue and combined with Tecovas’ HeiQ Fresh & Wicking treatment, you’ll avoid offending nearby noses.
One last thing—even though this falls into the “button-down” category, it has snaps (which I prefer anyway). Only the very top button is a true button. The rest are faux horn pearl snaps set in antique brass, including the ones on the cuffs and pockets.
