New Makita 18V LXT Brushless 3-Speed Impact Wrench Delivers Speed, Power, and Precision
The new Makita 18V LXT Brushless 3-Speed Impact Wrench combines Makita’s BL Brushless Motor, Star Protection controls, XPT (Extreme Protection Technology), and their new 4.0 amp hour battery to create a pretty impressive impact wrench.
More impact wrenches and drivers are hitting the market with multiple speed settings to improve control and precision. The Makita XWT02M LXT Impact wrench features 3 speeds and a reverse switch.
- Low speed: 0 – 1600 RPM, 59 max foot pounds of torque, and 0 – 1800 IPM
- Medium speed: 0 – 2100 RPM, 129 max foot pounds of torque, and 0 – 2600 IPM
- High speed: 0 – 2800 RPM, 210 max foot pounds of torque, and 0 – 3500 IPM
According to Mario Lopez, Makita Product Manager, Cordless Tools, “The new XWT02M is the latest in Makita’s long line of expertise, innovation and leadership in cordless fastening tools. Three speeds with a reversible setting mean more control for fastening applications. And with the efficient brushless motor and the fast-charging Makita 18 volt LXT® Lithium-Ion 4.0 amp-hour battery, contractors will benefit from longer run time and increased productivity.”
Makita’s brushless motor has the added benefit of creating a more compact design and therefore, lower weight. The Makita 18V LXT Brushless 3-Speed Impact Wrench weighs only 3.8 pounds with a battery installed. Like most tools in this category, it features a front facing LED light to illuminate dark work spaces. While we’re still waiting for that on battery LED power gauge to show up, there is a 3 stage LED gauge on the tool to let you know how much power you’ve got left.
