New to the market is the Makita Job Site Fan, the latest Makita LXT family member that now boasts over 80 members strong. The fan is powered by Makita’s 18V LXT battery packs (or 14.4V), which now also includes the Makita LXT 18V 4.0 amp hour battery. It is also able to run off of an AC adapter, which provides uninterrupted power (save for natural disasters and forgetting to pay the electric bill).
The Job Site Fan, officially dubbed the DCF300Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 13″ Job Site Fan, has three speed settings. At the lowest speed, it can achieve a run time of up to 4 hours using the 4.0 amp hour battery. It also features an oscillation selector so that the cooling effect can be spread over a broader area. There is also an automatic shut off switch. This allows you to have the fan shut itself off after 1, 2, or 4 hours of use.
Makita Job Site Fan Design
The design of the new Makita cordless fan includes durability considerations to help it survive the job site. It can be angled up to 45 degrees and has a large carry handle for convenient movement from one spot to another.
Mario Lopez, Makita Product Manager in the Cordless Tools division says that “Makita continues to be the market leader in 18 volt Lithium-Ion with a growing assortment of solutions in our expanding 18V LXT line-up. With 4 hours of run time and a range of convenience features, the DCF300Z is a powerful and portable solution for painters and contractors, and more.”
The DCF300Z Job Site Fan is available as a tool only wherever Makita tools are sold. Sorry, no kits including a battery are available with this one, so you’ll need to purchase your battery and charger separately. Alternatively, the AC adapter is included, so you can use that along with your other Makita batteries until you get your hands on the new 4.0 amp hour pack. The Makita Job Site Fan is backed by Makita’s 3 year limited warranty and is currently priced in the neighborhood of $150.
