Klein Tools Head of the Class Contest is looking for the nation’s best electrical and HVAC instructors. This is a new award that seeks to reward and bring attention to instructors similar to the way we honor the best of our public schoolteachers. Klein understands the value of great teachers and have come up with a way to really recognize the great ones in our trade schools. Three criteria will factor into the selection of the 2014 Instructor of the Year: master of the craft, classroom/lab experience, and community dedication Six regional winners will be selected for the award, and one of those finalists will be selected as the Klein Tool Head of the Class Instructor of the Year. The finalists will be chosen by Klein and have their stories posted online. Then, Klein fans will have the opportunity to vote for which nominee they think should be the Instructor of the Year.
Anyone can nominate an instructor by filling out a form online at the Klein Tools Head of the Class website. Nominations are taking place now through September 1st, and Klein will announce the regional winners on September 15th. For the six regional finalists, each will receive $500 cash and $500 in Klein tools for their training center. The Instructor of the Year is expected to be announced around October 7th and will receive $1000 cash and $1000 in Klein tools for his or her training center. In addition to the prize, the winner’s fall class will also be decked out with a Klein Back-to-School Kit including a hi-viz t-shirt, an insulated beverage hauler, safety glasses, a flash drive, and a half dozen carpenter’s pencils.
We would absolutely agree with what Klein Tools Product Marketing Manager Tom Barton has to say about the contest. “We know there are a lot of great instructors out there who have a passion for electrical and HVAC work, are exceptional teachers and are involved in the world around them. Klein Tools wants to recognize and celebrate their contribution to the trades and the community as a whole.”
