The Worx Nitro 80V Lawnmower Now Utilizes Power Share Battery Technology
Worx has entered the high-voltage lawnmower game with the release of their Nitro 80V self-propelled 21-inch lawnmower. At its heart is their new Power Share battery system that offers wider cross-compatible across the entire Worx 20V, 40V, and 80V Nirto OPE ecosystems. With that in mind, we’re setting out to see if this 80V mower is a true gas replacement for homeowners.

This mower comes with a 2-bushel grass bag as well as a detachable side discharge chute, so you have multiple options when it comes to bagging vs. mulching. A quick-change mode lever lets the user switch between mulching and bagging modes as needed. You never have to remove a mulch plug ever again. The main handle is also fully collapsable for easy and compact vertical storage.
Here at our shop, we have an eclectic assortment of grass that primarily includes St. Augustine, Floratam, Bahiagrass, and of course a few stray weeds. Our team performed a routine 1 1/2-inch maintenance cut with a fully charged battery pack and got just under 48 minutes of runtime. Our grass is still a little dry since we’re just now on the leading edge of the Summer rainy season but that’s still plenty of runtime for tackling 1/3 to 1/2 acre lawns.
Worx Nitro 80V Self-Propelled 21-inch Lawnmower Design
- Model: Worx WG761
- Power Source: Worx 4x20V battery pack
- Deck Material: Steel
- Deck Height Adjustment: Single point

While not the first 80V lawnmower released by Worx, it gets its voltage in an unusual way. Four 20V 5.0Ah batteries combine within a single 4A 4-port charger/power supply. This mounts directly onto the top of the Worx Nitro 80V lawnmower to deliver tons of power. As a result, it offers a lot more power and convenience when compared to lightweight mowers such as the Worx 40V 17-inch mower.
Keep in mind that this mower is intended to run on a combined 80V power level so it does require all four batteries to operate.
Worx Nitro 80V Self-Propelled 21-inch Lawnmower Price
The Worx Nitro 80V lawnmower kit retails for $782.00 and comes with four 20V 5.0Ah batteries and a Power Share charger. Worx backs this mower with a 5-year limited warranty.
The Bottom Line
The Worx Nitro 80V lawnmower offers confident cutting power and runtime and is a big step up in terms of torque over previous models. It excelled in both mulching and bagging but left something to be desired with the removable side discharge chute. Overall, the cross-compatible 20V batteries open up a lot of possibilities when you’re expanding your OPE arsenal. If you’re looking for a solid gas replacement this mowing season, definitely keep the Worx Nitro 80V lineup in mind.
