Let’s face it, our smartphones can do some pretty amazing things – but I only know how to talk, text, and access protoolreviews.com among a few other things. It’s not that I’m unintelligent, it’s just that some of the features are more complicated to use than they are worth to me. The Milwaukee laser distance meter or measure has taken a simpler approach in design, helping users take better advantage of features and actually use them.
Enter the 2281-20 and 2282-20 Milwaukee laser distance meters. Milwaukee designed these with simplicity in mind. They concluded, and I have to agree, that if the interface for accessing the full features of the device is simpler, the user will be more likely to take advantage of them. That’s pretty sound reasoning in my book.
The new interface on the Milwaukee laser distance meters allow users to more easily operate the five measurement functions built into each unit: distance, area, volume, indirect measurement (by Pythagorean Theorem), and equidistant measurements for jobs such as stud placement. The housing is designed with a threaded tripod mount, to fit squarely into corners and flush against flat objects to aid in accuracy, and with a rugged over-molding that improves the durability on the jobsite.
