30 years after the launch of the line, the 2025 Exmark Lazer Z X-Series zero turn mowers are getting some solid upgrades. With better on-the-go flexibility, better performance, and easier maintenance, the design team targeted several areas for improvement.
“Armed with the feedback of our customers, we developed a new Lazer Z family that raises the bar for reliability, cut quality and value at every model level. Each customer’s needs are unique, so we worked hard to ensure each Lazer Z model delivers the performance, durability, and uptime productivity they need, with the distinct features they want.”

2025 Exmark Lazer Z X-Series Zero Turn Mower Upgrades
For 2025, the X-Series has deck sizes from 52 to 96 inches. The 52, 60, and 72-inch models feature the UltraCut Series 6 side discharge deck. Those decks are all have Exmark’s Adapt design that gives you the flexibility to change the deck rake without the need for tools.
It’s useful in changing conditions. Take Florida for example. Summer mowing season days typically start damp, dry out around 10:00 AM, and can dump tons of rain in the early afternoon… or none at all. It’s hard to predict. Rather than dealing with one deck rake setting and hoping for the best, in a matter of minutes, you can make the adjustments you need to get the best possible cut.
The 96-inch UltraCut deck is a rear discharge Flex-Wing design. While it offers the widest cutting swath in the line, it doesn’t have the Adapt feature.
Need an even larger deck? The Lazer Z diesel models include one with a 144-inch deck!
The drive system also gets an upgrade for 2025 with faster mowing speeds than previous models. The 52 – 72-inch models can go up to 12 MPH, and the 96-inch model tops out at 10.5 MPH. Previously, your top speed was 11.5 MPH with the smaller decks and 9 MPH on the 96-inch.
Making the mowers even easier to maintain, this year’s models include a redesign to the seat mount. Its positioning makes accessing the front of the engine and hydraulic drive components easier. For rear engine access, there are only four bolts to loosen before you can remove on the guard.
Last but not least, the 2025 Exmark Lazer Z X-Series zero turn line comes standard with LED lights across the front and sides. The goal for adding these wasn’t just to give these mowers a flashy feature to compete with electric models, but to make sure those lights are legitimately helpful when you need to start early or work late.
